Title
Historic James Burrough House 1818 #1
Description
John Holden Greene built this Federal house for James Burrough in 1818. Burrough was a officer at the custom house. The home Greene built for Burrough exemplifies his signature monitor-on-hip-roof. The Burrough family comissioned other homes in the area from the architect. Greene later built a home for himself beside Burrough’s at 150 Power Street. The two homes were seperated in 1950 when Bryant College moved Greene’s home to make room for dormitory housing.
