The Aurora Club's first officers and members of the board of directors were, from left to right as follows: (front row) Theodore V. Galassi, Edmund M. Mauro, Professor Alfonso DeSalvo, Judge Antonio Capotosto, Vincent Sorrentino, and John DiStefano; (back row) Raphael Vicario, Felix Mirando, Giuseppe Mercurio, Louis Jackvony, and Ralph Tortolani. The Aurora Club was founded "To conserve, develop, disseminate, as American citizens, those traditions of Italian culture, which are in harmony with the traditions of this country. It is non-political, non sectarian, it is constituted for literary, scientific, artistic, civic and social purposes."
