Title
Willingboro Plaza
Description
The Willingboro Plaza in Levittown, New Jersey was a 614,000-square-foot regional shopping center that was built as a centerpiece of the city. After 7 years of construction, Willingboro Plaza was completed in 1967 with featured stores like Acme, Sears and Pomeroy's. By the late 1970's, the completion of a section of Interstate 295 through Burlington County and the introduction of the Burlington Center Mall pulled commerce away from the mall and contributed to its downfall.
By the 1996, the mall was completely shuttered and condemned until December 1997, when Neward-based ReNEWal Realty assumed ownership and planned the redevelopment of the property into Willingboro Town Center.
