The East Providence Waste Water Treatment Facility was constructed between 1952 and 1954, opening in 1954. The Pomham Lighthouse, located in Narragansett Bay and in the center of this photograph, was operated by the U.S. Coast Guard from the time it was built in 1871 until it was deactivated in 1974.
