Title
Jerusalem: Mount of Olives
Description
The Mount of Olives is a mountainside in Jerusalem covered in a combination of magnificent architecture and stones. Among the various highlights of the Mount are the Church of Mary Magdalene, the Garden of Gethsemane, the Basilica of the Agony, and the wide stretch of land devoted as a cemetery. This large cemetery accounts for the multitude of rocks that can be seen on the Mount of Olives. In Jewish tradition, instead of placing flowers on a grave site that has been visited, the person places a stone. This indicates that the grave was visited and the deceased has not been forgotten.
