Special Collections manages the institutional repository for Rhode Island College, as well as the digital archives for Special Collections. We are currently in the process of migrating and updating our digital materials from the our old digital platform, DigitalCommons@RIC, into our new system, RIC Digital Collections, hosted by TIND.io. By changing systems, we will be able to provide an enhanced user experience and increased accessibility of our digital content. This allows us to streamline our workflows and submission process, which will maximize the efficiency of the Special Collections, as well as create a more seamless process for those who submit their scholarship.
Timeline
- The institutional repository, which contains faculty, staff, and student scholarship, is now available on our new digital collections site, RIC Digital Collections
- Special Collections materials in the digital archives (all yearbooks, commencement programs, catalogs, photographs, scrapbooks, oral histories, videos, etc.) are slowly being updated and made available, however we anticipate this process to take until the end of August
