The Tony Colonial Food market at 311 Atwells Avenue in Providence is a business that has grown continuously on Federal Hill and today is one of the larger fine Italian food stores anywhere in Rhode Island. It carries a complete line of Italian cold cuts, olive oils, cheese, confectioneries and pasta.
It was founded by Anthony Di Cicco in 1968. Anthony - known as Tony - was born on October 4, 1935, in Sant'Ambrogio in the province of Frosinone, Italy, the son of Giovanbattista and Maria Grazia (Fargnoli) Di Ciccio. He came to America in 1958. In 1961 he returned to Italy for a visit and married Elina (Constantino) Di Cicco. They are the parents of a daughter named Adrian.
