The Washington Monument and Museum at Mount Vernon Place, visible beyond busy Charles Street in Baltimore, Maryland. The monument is 178 feet tall and sits atop a hill in the heart of Baltimore. Architect Robert Mills designed the monument. Completed in 1829, it was the first civic monument to America’s first president, George Washington.
